"The Light Divine"...that graces and blesses our lives...Grins and Giggles

"The Light Divine" ...My Sweet Princess Daughter, Melody, sent me Love, Light and a blessing by way of a few minutes of a wonderful video clip of Baby Liam (3 months old)"Grins and Giggles" and it took me back many years....when she was just a tiny infant herself....

This is one of my favorite poems of all time...
Day Old Child
My day old child lay in my arms,
With my lips against his ear.
I whispered strongly, "How I wish--
I wish that you could hear,
I've a hundred wonderful things to say,
(a tiny cough and a nod),
hurry, hurry, hurry and grow
So I can tell you about God."
My day-old baby's mouth was still
And my words only tickled his ear,
But a kind of light passed through his eyes,
And I saw this thought appear:
"How I wish I had a voice and words,
I've a hundred things to say.
Before I forget, I'd tell you of God --
I left Him yesterday."
--Carol Lynn Pearson
As I relish looking at my wonderful grandson's face, I remember....I am blessed to, once again see that "Divine Spark" that I so often enjoyed while holding my own babies (his own mother, the first of five!) when they were little. I am overwhelmed with love and gratitude for that Light that babies bring to Us!
Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
     Hath had elsewhere its setting,
          And cometh from afar:
     Not in entire forgetfulness,
     And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:
Heaven lies about us in our infancy!
Shades of the prison-house begin to close
     Upon the growing Boy,
But He beholds the light, and whence it flows,
     He sees it in his joy;
The Youth, who daily farther from the east
Must travel, still is Nature's Priest,
     And by the vision splendid
     Is on his way attended;
At length the Man perceives it die away,
And fade into the light of common day.-William Worthsworth

The Carpenters - Bless the beasts and the children

Although this is one of my favorite songs of all time I had not thought about it for many years, but this morning I woke up to Karen Carpenter's sweet voice singing it in my ear...

Maybe it was because I have had 'little children' on my mind (more than usual recently). Lately I have felt discouraged and helpless at my feeble attempts to do some good in the world when I think about the immense suffering of Innocent defenseless children and God's noble creations.

As I have, recently, participated with our wonderful cast of friends and performers in the musical Oliver!, I have pondered, prayed and felt my heart break for the plight of such dear and precious ones! As our Sweet Joshua sings: "Where is Love?" my heart aches and tears flow. We know where love is but not everyone of His children know where He is! "God Is Love!"

My earliest memories as a child were of a loving mother and maternal grandmother rocking me for long periods of time and humming warm soothing melodies in a large rocking chair...

I always knew that the thing I wanted to do most in this world when I grew up would be to love! I had a living example in my Dear Mother and Father of the teachings of Our Lord of just how to go about doing that! My fondest dream and desires always were to follow their lead; To love; 'comfort and nurture the afflicted', 'help the helpless' and 'uplift the fallen and discouraged.' with my own words and deeds.

I relished the years and every stage of mothering and teaching my children and we even found many lost and or hurt little creatures and blessed opportunities to rescue, shelter and nurture some of them on our way....

I'm a granmy now, but the desires of my heart have not changed and I don't suppose they ever will!

There is nothing that fills my heart with more joy than being in the presence of the innocent. To interact heart to heart with a Precious Child of God is the closest feeling that I have felt to what I am sure is, the Perfect Love of Our Heavenly Father. I guess that is the reason I know that I will never cease to surround myself with children and little creatures...

My ever present heart prayer is that we will 'be' Love to someone everyday. That a word, a look, a smile, a tender touch, may be the reflection of that Perfect Love that we all so crave and desire. The Pure and Perfect Love of Our Heavenly Father who loved us so much that He allowed us to come live on this earth away from Him so we would learn to Love One Another as He Loves Us and then, when we have learned, we may return home to Live Forever In His Presence! May we daily, make an effort to make a little bit of heaven for someone here on earth as we are away from our Heavenly Father and until we can all be together with Him enjoying that Blessed Eternal Life!

*Positively POSITIVE (My place to store Favorite thoughts...)

“Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall esee my face and know that I am;
And that I am the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”-D&C 93:1-3
Existence:
The True Light...
Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:
Heaven lies about us in our infancy!
Shades of the prison-house begin to close
Upon the growing Boy,
But He beholds the light, and whence it flows,

And fade into the light of common day.

"Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish."-Esther 4:16 (Queen Esther is my Hero! <3 )
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others."-Marianne Williamson
Identity:
I am a Child of Light! I am a Child of God!

I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here,

Has given me an earthly home

With parents kind and dear.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,

Help me find the way.

Teach me all that I must do

To live with him someday.

I am a child of God,

And so my needs are great;

Help me to understand his words

Before it grows to late.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,

Help me find the way.

Teach me all that I must do

To live with him someday.

I am a child of God.

Rich blessings are in store;

If I but learn to do his will

I'll live with him once more.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,

Help me find the way.

Teach me all that I must do

To live with him someday.

I am a child of God.

His promises are sure;

Celestial glory shall be mine

If I can but endure.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,

Help me find the way.

Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday

"My son, forget not my law; let thine heart keep my commandments:for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”-Prov 3:1-6

Love One Another
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”.-John 13: 34-35
"When someone is unkind or disappoints you, please remember that the only way to achieve Inner Peace is to accept the simple fact that they have a choice to do what they want to do, say what they want to say and think what they want to think, whether it is true or false and whether you agree or disagree, approve or disapprove and there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it but accept that simple fact and move on with your life knowing that they will have to live with the consequences of their own choices." -Marie Harrison
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil:
but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Ye have heard that it hath been said,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour,
and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.-Mathew 5:39-48

Peace:
"If you want to be happy in life, care more about others than you do about yourself. You'll never regret being too kind"
-Marie Harrison
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
-Psalm 119:105

The Serenity Prayer
GOD, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed,

Courage to change the things
which should be changed,

and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,

Enjoying one moment at a time,

Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,

Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,

Not as I would have it,

Trusting that You will make all things right,

If I surrender to Your will,

So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,

And supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen
